The members of the jury of FESPA Spain choose the winners of the IV Ramón Sayans Awards

Aurelio Mendiguchía, Antonio Moreno and Josep Tobella have dedicated their professional lives to the world of screen printing and printing in their different formats and that is why FESPA Spain has relied on them to choose the winners of the IV edition of the Ramón Sayans awards to the best print jobs of the year’s visual communication.

The jury met on January 9 to assess the 14 works that have been submitted this year to the awards, most of them in digital categories. “I miss silkscreen,” commented Antonio Moreno. We are moving to more modern techniques that are very ingenious but I think they are easier to elaborate. ” “Silkscreen printing is an art that is getting lost,” added Aurelio Mendiguchía. It is being replaced by digital systems that have other advantages. ”

As in previous years, the works have been evaluated according to five criteria: definition of the image, appearance, color, complexity of the work, use of the products and aesthetic creativity.

The winners and the second prize will be sent in the coming days to London to participate in the FESPA Awards, in which Josep Tobella also participates as a member of the jury. “In this country we have a hard time participating in competitions, I do not know why,” he laments. In the FESPA Awards there are a lot of jobs, they are another world. I think it’s something that goes with the character of the people, although there are also countries that do not present anything to the FESPA Awards. ”

Josep Tobella believes that FESPA Spain associates should consider the Ramón Sayans awards as a great opportunity to give visibility to their companies. “People have to understand that this is in their own benefit, to promote their company. In addition, it is a pride to be able to compare your work with that of other colleagues, show your way of working and compete with yourself to do better next year. ”

This fourth edition of the Ramón Sayans awards, the jury has chosen the best work of the year, the best work in mixed media, better digital printing in rigid, better flexible digital printing, better textile printing and better 3D printing. In addition, this year a special prize has been awarded to the best entrepreneurial company. The winners will be announced publicly at the next General Assembly of FESPA Spain, which will be held throughout the first quarter of this year.
