Xeikon presents ‘Panther Duracure’ drying technology

Xeikon is in the process of patenting its ‘Panther DuraCure’ UV drying technology for ‘Xeikon PantherCure UV’ inks. With this innovation, the digital inkjet UV printers of the ‘Xeikon Panther’ series take a big step in terms of performance. ‘Panther DuraCure’ is a technology of drying that allows to obtain the optimum brightness in all the colors and resistant impressions in all type of applications and segments of market. Its key advantages are a uniform performance, the extension of the useful life and the lowest possible energy consumption.

Jeroen Van Bauwel, director of product management, notes that “the performance of the drying system is an important factor when investing in a technology of printing inkjet UV” and states that “with ‘DuraCure’ is achieved optimal drying in a wide range of applications, combined with UV ‘PantherCure’ inks and Xeikon supports, produces the highest quality, which translates into better business opportunities for customers. ”

Operation of the drying process

The drying technology ‘Panther DuraCure’ works in several ways, in combination with digital printers inkjet UV ‘Panther’. When the ultraviolet light sets the white, the ink is prevented from spreading and mixing with the four-color process. This ensures the highest quality of the image in four colors.

Once the process has been printed, after applying the black, ‘DuraCure’ fixes the colors in the image and maintains an optimal and uniform brightness.

Van Bauwel concludes: “The combination of these steps results in the most durable, sustainable and efficient drying system on the market, which is why we are in the process of patenting ‘Panther DuraCure’ technology.”

Xeikon, a division of Flint Group, designs, develops and supplies rotary digital color printing systems for the sectors of labels, packaging, document production and commercial printing. These printers use different imaging technology, open source software for workflows and specific consumables for their applications.

As a supplier of original equipment manufacturers, Xeikon also designs and produces plates for press printing applications. In addition, Xeikon manufactures basysPrint CtCP (conventional sheet metal computer) solutions for the commercial offset printing market. For the flexographic market, Xeikon offers digital plate creation systems under the trade name ‘ThermoFlexX’.

Flint Group develops and manufactures an extensive catalog of printing consumables. This includes a wide range of conventional and electric curing inks and coatings, stamping chemicals, plates and other printing equipment, blankets and printing shirts, as well as pigments and additives for inks and other colorant applications.
